A Note From the Directors

“You have been my friend.That in itself is a tremendous thing. After all what’s a life anyway? We’re born, we live a little, we die. By helping you perhaps I was lifting up my like a trifle. Heaven knows, anyone’s life can stand a little of that.” To me this is the crux of this play. No matter how different we are, it is still possible to be a friend. It has been an honor to work with this cast and crew and I hope you enjoy all the hard work they have put into this performance.

It has been a privilege music directing Charlottes Web. Since the first rehearsal, the cast has demonstrated natural talent and passion creating music. The diverse ages and backgrounds of all cast members bring together a chemistry that showcases the joy and excitement of this wonderful story.

I have so many fond memories of hearing the story “Charlotte’s Web” when I was a kid. It was the first chapter book that was ever read aloud to me by my parents, and the first book that I read cover to cover on my own. When I hear young kids today talk about reading the book with their class or with their parents, it’s clear to me that this classic children’s novel has not only stood the test of time but will remain an enduring classic for generations to come. It has been an incredible joy to be a part of bringing E.B. White’s fantastic story to life onstage with such a terrific and radiant cast and crew!
